Updated: Jan 11, 2018

More than 1000 orders over 2017

Into late December 2017, Indigo Partners confirmed an order of 430 Airbus planes. The private equity firm specializing in making investments in growth capital made a promise's order during Dubai Air Show for 273 A320neos and 157 A321neos. 146 aircraft will go to Wizz the European low-cost carrier, 134 to American Frontier Airlines, 80 to Mexican Airlines Voltaris and the last 70 to the Chilean company JetSmart.

December was a great month for Airbus with a total of 705 orders. One hundred A320neo ACF from Delta Air Lines, 50 A320ceo/neo from Viva Air, 50 A320neo from AerCap, 25 A321neo ACF from Pegasus Airlines, 50 A320neo from China Aircraft Leasing plus the huge order from Indigo Partners. Before December 2017, Airbus already confirmed 333 orders which make a total of more than 1000 aircrafts over 2017. It's a big raise on sales for European company that made a "poor" total of 731 over 2016. For the 8th consecutive year Airbus has more orders than deliveries which is a good point for all of the European aerospace market.

700 deliveries reached in 2017

The total deliveries is more than expected, December has been a very succesful month as Airbus delivered an amount of 111 planes that breaks the 2016 records. According to Reuters, Airbus delivered before December 591 planes plus the 111 of December that make a total of 702 planes over the year.

That's a good end for both famous faces of the company that are John Leathy, Airbus salesman and Fabrice Bregier, that was COO for more than a decade. 2017 has been a satisfying year for Airbus on both industrial and commercial point of view.
