Airbus & Dassault collaborate to create futur European air combat system

At the airshow ILA Berlin, Airbus Defense & Space and French aircraft manufacturer of military, regional, and business jets Dassault Aviation declared they will join force to develop systems that will equipped French and German aerial forces for 2035/2040. Airbus is part of the consortium, which is behind Eurofighter when Dassault is the manufacturer of the famous Rafale Jet.

Dassault & Airbus will work together to build new version of Eurofighter

This collaboration will be led by Franco-German coalition and will sustain European sovereignty over technology and leadership in the military segment; this program will include the manufacture of drones, communication technology, air & command, airplane, and transport planes. SCAF should rely on artificial intelligence to manage the program. At the moment, we don't know which one of the two European giant will take the lead for this crucial project.

"Our roadmap regarding SCAF program will cover proposition for demonstrator development from 2025. I'm convicted that only European independent solutions are able to guarantee strategic autonomy and sovereignty of Europe."  said Eric Tappier, Dassault Aviation CEO

The question about Great Britain and his benefits of this program is still active. The two major countries around this project that are France and Germany didn't decide yet if the britain country will benefit of advancement of these technologies and decision will mainly be due to the term of European Exit.

According to Theo Legett,, BBC Consultant:

"The aim is to collaborate on developing a Future Combat Air System - an integrated mechanism involving not just fighters, but drones and other systems, all linked by secure communications. The political will is such that it has brought together two companies - Airbus and Dassault - which have historically been rival"
