Dassault Aviation launches new business jet Falcon 6X

After they canceled Falcon 5X due to issues with Silvercrest engines from Safran because of on-time delivery, French manufacturer launch his new business jet the Falcon 6X and chose as motorist the Canadian company Pratt&Whitney.

Cabin more spacious as requested


The new aircraft will has same cabin diameter that was planned to have the Falcon 5X. It will be the most spacious, advanced and versatile twinjet in Business Aviation. As requested by customers in an intensive survey made by Dassault cabin will be larger than the one designed before: 1,98 meters high for 2,58 meters wide and will be nearly 13 meters long. This is the highest and widest cross section in a purpose-built business jet.


As design innovation, the twinjet will have 29 windows with one zenith porthole that is unique on the business jet aviation market. Maximal load capacity will be 16 passengers and can accommodate a three distinct lounge areas, affording room for multiple configurations including a large entry way/crew rest area and a spacious rear lounge.


Pratt & Whitney PurePower PW800 engines


As Dassault had issues with Safran and SilverCrest Program for the Falcon 5X, the French aircraft manufacturer changed motorist in favor of Pratt&Whitney. The engines will allow the aircraft to have a top speed of Mach 0.90 and a maximum range of 5.500 miles. This is longer than any other jet in business aviation category. It can fly directly from Los Angeles to Geneva for example.


The PurePower PW800 engines features the common core technology of the Pratt & Whitney Geared Turbofan, which is shared by 16 different engine applications and has amassed over 585,000 flight hours. Equipped with a low maintenance single piece fan and emission reducing Talon combustor, the PurePower PW800 engines offer the highest efficiency, reliability and maintainability in the 10,000-20,000 lb class.


An innovative aircraft


The Falcon 6X will also be equipped with an innovative wing that minimizes the impact of turbulence and will be the first aircraft to have a flaperon and a digital flight control system that allows the pilot to keep control over every moving part of the plane.


It will has the best noise suppression system of the market and a new cockpit equipped of third generation avionic EASy III all digital full deck. It will be delivered with FalconSphereII electronic flight bag and revolutionary FalconEye Combined Vision System. Test sessions are planned for 2021 and first delivery in 2022.
