Flight test over Atlantic is a succes for the A321 Long range

We keep following A321LR advancement. The 31st of January, European giant, Airbus declared that his new plane from A321 family did his maiden flight. Thirteen days later, this is the big test session for the new long range, it will fly over Atlantic from Paris to New York. First TransAtlantic flight!

As reminder, the long-range version of Airbus from the A321 family is special because it can run very long distance thanks to the third additional center tank that he can carry. More fuel tank so longer distance. It can fly over 4.000 miles that represent 7.400 km.

When it will be operational, the plane will have a load capacity of 97 tonnes when it is 93.5 for the A321neo. His passenger capacity is about 206 passengers when it is a bi-class configuration and 240 passengers when it will be mono-class. Airbus declared that the purpose of this new plane, is to open new routes and new market segment as it will change the way people travel thanks to its fuel load capacity.

Today the 14th of February, Airbus said that the A321LR did with success his test session over Atlantic. It went from Le Bourget airport to New York. First deliveries will be to low-cost Danish company Primera Air planned for the end of 2018.
