French army ministry notified via the Minister of the Armed Forces Florence Parly that France and Germany launch a new phase of military helicopter program Tigre that is a European collaboration. This decision follows the Franco-German council of 13rd of July 2017 where France and Germany decided to elaborate a collaborative program, the Standard 3 of Tigre helicopter followed by an attached program of tactical air-to-ground missile named MAST-F a technological missile developed from the French missile MBDA-MMP and German one PARS 3.
This update of the existing program Tigre should increase collaborative fight capacity and modernize offensive capabilities of the military helicopter. The European missile MAST-F will replace the PARS 3, Hellfire and Spike from respectively German, French and Spanish Tiger fleets.
Airbus Helicopter that manufacture the Tiger helicopter also won the integration study bid from this missile in August 2017. This program has been thought in 1976 and born from a collaboration between France and Germany to create an offensive helicopter. The First tiger have been realize in 2004.
