Updated: May 29, 2019

JEC WORLD GIVES THE OPPORTUNITY TO PROFESSIONALS TO MEET WITH THE WORLDWIDE COMPOSITES INDUSTRY DEDICATED ENTIRELY TO THE DEVELOPMENT OF KNOW-HOW

As every year, the world major composite trade show attendance is growing. In 2019, it’s more that 1300 exhibitors and 43000 professional visits that are expected in the « Palais des Expositions » of Villepinte. Many industries will be represented. Aerospace is now the major one, followed by the automotive, building & construction, defense etc..

JEC World 2019 focuses on creating business, sourcing innovation and sharing knowledge through different actions and programs such as pre-arranged Business Meetings, Technical Conferences, JEC Innovation Awards, Composites Exchange, Startup Booster competition, Innovation planets, Composites in Action, Composite Challenge...

The 2019 edition will be the opportunity to present the results of the global composite market observatory; to offer the renewed Composites Industry Circles to automotive, aero and building end users industrials; to highlight regions with strong composites ecosystem, the two Countries to be on stage: the Netherlands and France; and to host the first Composites in action area dedicated to 3D-printing in cooperation with IMT, DLR and Thermwood.

As every year, JEC World centralizes in one place the decision-makers of the whole value chain. From the raw materials manufacturer to the service suppliers. It’s the perfect place to meet parts manufacturers, equipment, tools and innovative machine manufacturers such as our Principal Airborne. End-user and industries key players as well as distributors and representatives will also be there.

Composite is increasingly used in different sectors and especially in Aerospace. The light weight of these parts is an important advantage in the design of an aircraft. It makes possible to reduce the weight of the aircraft and therefore consumption considerably. More and more composite parts are used in the manufacture of the aircraft. It answers and will be for sure part of the next challenges that Aerospace & Defense sector will be facing in the next 20 years.

Composite materials have been called the shape of aerospace’s future. With their winning combination of high strength, low weight and durability, it’s easy to see why. For more than 30 years, Airbus has pioneered the use of such materials in its commercial jetliners, from the cornerstone A310’s vertical stabiliser to today’s A350 XWB – on which more than half of the aircraft’s structure is composite.

In essence, a composite material is made from two or more constituent materials with different physical or chemical properties. When combined, the composite material exhibits beneficial physical characteristics quite different from what the individual components alone can provide. Commonly-recognised composites in everyday life include plywood and reinforced concrete.

Surfeo’s team are on the field on a daily basis to create new opportunities of business for our Clients. We bring high level of expertise in aerospace market.
