The Mondial Air Ballons is the largest gathering of hot-air balloon in the world organized at Chambley between Metz and Nancy. For its 30 years the Mondial Air Ballons becomes # GEMAB19.
Since 1989, every 2 years Chambley in Lorraine hosts the Mondial Air Ballons, the aerostatic event that has become number 1 in world. The grandiose spectacle puts the heads of visitors and pilots in the clouds and leaves them dreamers. Each edition brings together nearly 400,000 spectators!
This 2019 edition celebrates both the 236th anniversary of Jean-François Pilâtre de Rozier’s flight, and the 30th anniversary of GEMAB.

In 2019, it’s been 236 years since humans won the balloon airs. At the origin of this exploration, a young man, Jean-François Pilâtre de Rozier (1754-1785), impetuous and passionate, who flies into the sky for the first time in the world on November 21, 1783 onboard of a hot air balloon. Seven generations later, one of his descendants, Philippe Buron Pilâtre dreams of a world balloon gathering and in 1989 “Fraternité 89” was born.
