As there still are a Gulf crisis and tense relationship between Qatar and neighbour countries, Qataris have to protect and to reinforce their army. The Gulf country invests a lot in military. Since the political conflict began, Qatar spent some 30 billion dollars that represent some 25 billion euros in military hardware.

The 14th of March at DIMDEX show at Doha, Qatari government announced a deal for twenty-eight NH90 helicopter has been find. Leonardo, Italian manufacturer will act as the main contractor although, it was officially signed with the NHI consortium which includes Airbus and Fokker too.
"We are proud to have signed this contract that expands and continues Leonardo's strong and long-term partnership with Qatar," said Alessandro Profumo, Leonardo's chief executive.
The deal is about three billion euros. It is composed of 16 NH90 TTH that will be assembly at Marignane in Airbus' base, while twelve NH90 NFH will be carried by Leonardo at their facility at Venise-Tessera.
There will be now 543 twin-engine multirole military aircraft sold by the consortium between Airbus, Leonardo and Fokker.

"We are all strongly committed to strengthen our business approach according to our 2018-2022 Industrial Plan."
