Qatar Airways wants more A350-1000

Qatar Airways only have two Airbus A350-1000 since February but they are already seduced by the longest fuselage version of Airbus.

Measuring nearly 74 meters, the A350-1000, in a typical three-class configuration, seats a total of 366 passenger. In this configuration, the A350-1000 from Qatar Airways can carry 44 more passenger than the A350-900. That represents a raise of 28% of total capacity.

“Since taking delivery of the world’s first A350-1000 in February 2018, we have been extremely pleased with the aircraft’s performance, which has prompted us to update our original order,” said Qatar Airways Group CEO Akbar Al Baker.

As Qataris airline is more than happy with the aircraft launch by the european giant Airbus back in February 2018, they decided to convert five of the 13 Airbus A350-900 that Qatar Airways still have to receive to A350-1000. So this decision do not change Airbus' number of command but make Qatar Airways the most important customer for A350-1000.

“We are pleased the A350-1000 delivers to [Qatar Airways’] expectations, being the aircraft of choice to seamlessly increase capacity in unprecedented comfort on its growing long-haul routes,” said Airbus commercial aircraft chief Guillaume Faury.
