A 550 million dollars deal


The 28th of november, Textron Aviation conclude, with its historical partner and client Fedex, a deal for 100 new twin turboprop Cessna SkyCourrier. The purchase as been done at 5.5 million dollars each piece which represent a total of 550million dollars deal. The Fedex CEO, David L. Cunningham perfectly summurized the relationship between the two companies.

"FedEx Express has had a great relationship with Textron Aviation over the years, and this new, advanced aircraft will play a key role in our feeder aircraft modernization strategy."

The overnight shipping service company has made a command for 50 cargos and 50 optional planes. The Delivery is planed for 2020 and the wind tunnel test is going to be done in February.

SkyCourrier C408


This very new plane is perfectly thought for goods transportation. This twin turboprop plane has a flat floor and a loading capacity that represent 3 standard LD3 shipping containers. It has also been designed for fully loaded high frequency operations and maximum efficiency therefore it owns a very large cargo door. This hight wings plane has 6,000 pounds payload capability and it also can transport till 19 passengers. It has a maximum range of 900nm(1700km) and its speed limit is 370km/h.
